On January 19th you can color your world with spring fabrics. Come by the store and see the new Vera Bradley colors and styles for yourself. Ellie Blue, Camellia, and Rosy Posies are featured in our vignettes, but don’t slight Island Blooms just because it’s 30 below! You can take these delicious colors with you to Hawaii or just pack them in your car to thaw out your trip to Fred Meyer. We have fabulous new styles for you in both the new colors and ones we’re fond of from the past.

Spring 2012 Vera Bradley Signature Collection

Four new colors will catapult you into spring this season. Ellie Blue will have you dreaming of a marketplace in India in no time! Sense excitement all around you; finger the lush textiles with their rich colors. It is an Eastern-inspired paisley motif in shades of indigo blue, and golden saffron accented with papyrus white and a touch of blue-gray. Watch out for the elephants marching along the border! They add whimsy and fun in the midst of all that bold color. Ellie Blue is radiant and cheerful.

Rosy Posies is an eye-catching combination of petite paisleys and oversized florals. It appears as if it sprang full blown from a greenhouse full of geraniums. Layers of colors from burgundy to berry, coral to cream and lemon drop set a positive tone to this fabric. Rosy Posies is complex and dimensional-delightful paired with khaki or navy.

Camellia evokes the romance of a 19th century garden. Warm shades of graphite gray, dusty taupe and soft white harmonize with the large energetic camellia blossoms. Camellia is elegant and shares the ambiance of graceful movement. Think gospel music; Camellia is a refined nod to a soulful journey.

Island Blooms will take you to paradise with its oversized white blossoms. Very stylized and tribal inspired, it is reminiscent of Gauguin’s Tahitian paintings with its aquatic hues and tropical chartreuse foliage. The interior pattern is contemporary, an artistic compliment to the outside fabric.

We are pleased to debut Spiritiles to the Fairbanks community as our feature on First Friday January 6, 2012. Spiritiles are designed and created by Houston Llew of Atlanta, Georgia. Molten glass on copper, they can stand alone or hang on a wall. They never fade or tarnish and bring liminous imagery to life with timeless ideas on their golden sides. We’ll have 32 different spiritiles on display for this event.

Salt Adds a Finishing Touch

We chose some of the most interesting salts for our Specialty Foods Collection this season. Limited Edition affordable packages provide the opportunity to taste amazing salts without purchasing large quantities. 17 December 2011 Sometimes you have to go a far distance to get something wonderful. It’s a bit of a jaunt to get to the Polka Dot Bake Shop from here. They serve up some delicious cupcakes and such in Charlotte,North Carolina. So we’ve done the next best thing— bring their amazing Cracked Pepper Sweet Potato Crackers to Fairbanks! Made in small batches with real sweet potatoes, they are seasoned with savory ingredients to provide a unique taste. Plus, they’re gluten free! 16 December 2011 I just love chocolate, so we have LOTS of choices in our 2011 Specialty Foods Collection. Gosanko Chocolate Art from Auburn,Washington, creates masterpieces in an old world tradition. They revived the art of sculpting and manufacturing workable moulds, and the result is colorful and fun. We have fish, from dark chocolate halibut to colorfully foil wrapped milk chocolate salmon and fingerlings—great for the fisherperson’s stocking! There are also colorful hard hats, solid chocolate for the construction workers in your life. The chocolate used in these creations is Guittard, crafted using European methods and containing a special blend of rich, handpicked cocoa beans. We also have colored holiday lights and lights on sticks (to make hanging stockings look sensational).
